The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Otsego County - The Unatego Central School District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Unatego Central School District 2007 Capital Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves: remove and replace sidewalk area at cafeteria, replace playground equipment & surfacing, replace chain link fencing, replace precast stone coping, replace original 1934 wood doors/clerestory windows, replace original 1934 wood windows, replace single ply roof, replace existing wood doors with 3'-0" x 7'-0" solid wood doors / wood frames, replace door hardware, provide additional security cameras, replace corridor light fixtures, provide automatic flush valves, remove classroom drinking fountains from sinks, install mechanical draft system on breeching, commission fluid transfer system, replace air handling units due to age, replace classroom unit vents, install mechanical ventilation in one teaching space, remove and replace heating system piping, replace convectors, replace unit heaters, replace cabinet heaters, replace fin tube radiation, correct duct distribution, replace control system, replace septic system, replace 1934 & 1955 ceilings with new 2' x 2' suspended system, replace cafeteria tables & seating, repoint and provide sealant at exterior walls, replace rubber flooring, replace 1955 corridor lockers, replace toilet partitions, remove and replace raised stage, replace portable gymnasium bleachers, reconstruct cracks throughout terrazzo floor, replace vinyl asbestos floor tile in stairwells, replace locker room corridor lockers, replace chalkboards with markerboards, provide additional acoustical panels in cafeteria, provide cafeteria window curtains, toilet room upgrades for toilet rooms located on 1st & 2nd floors, provide front entry security system (this may involve relocating main office), replace gymnasium built-up roof, provide new approximately 1,000 square foot storage building, communication/technology upgrades, relocate boilers to grade in new building addition; and associated work. Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Chenango and Delaware Counties - The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Chenango countywide 911 communications system upgrade. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on May 16, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Boardroom of the Chenango County Office Building, 50 Court Street, Norwich, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until May 26, 2007. The action involves upgrading the existing radio communications system used by public safety personnel within Chenango County as part of the Chenango Countywide 911 Communications System Upgrade program. The communications network upgrade would include constructing additional communication support equipment to existing microwave transmission/receiver tower facilities and constructing new antenna towers, as appropriate, to enhance public safety radio system communication. The project is located at ten different sites in seven towns within Chenango County and one site located within Delaware County.
