Negative Declaration


Nassau County - The City of Long Beach City Council, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed City of Long Beach Comprehensive Plan and Environmental Assessment will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of a Comprehensive Plan for the City of Long Beach that will provide for the city's growth over the next 15 years or so. It will act as a context for land use decision making and capital improvement planning, affecting all aspects of the city's environment and quality of life. Analyzed with an environmental assessment, the Plan will not replace the need for future detailed studies or site-specific environmental reviews; the Plan will be utilized to provide reference and policy guidance for subsequent analyses, as required by SEQRA. The project is located at City of Long Beach, Long Beach City Hall, Kennedy Plaza, 1 West Chester Street, Long Beach, NY 11561.

Suffolk County - The Incorporated Village of Head of the Harbor Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has determined that proposed Local Law (Introductory No.) 3 of 2006 enacting Chapter 165, Article XX, Erosion and Sediment Control Law, and related Amendments, of the Village Code will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The local law will establish minimum stormwater management requirements and controls to protect and safeguard the general health, safety and welfare of the public. A public hearing to adopt the local law will be held on May 16, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at 500 North Country Road, St. James, NY 11780. Written comments on the proposed Local Law will be accepted until May 16, 2007.

Suffolk County - The Incorporated Village of Head of the Harbor Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Local Law (Introductory No.) 4 of 2006 enacting Chapter 166 of the Village Code to prohibit illicit discharges, activities and connections to separate storm sewer systems will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The local law will provide for the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of the Village of Head of the Harbor through the regulation of non-stormwater discharges to the municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4). A public hearing to adopt the local law will be held on May 16, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at 500 North Country Road, St. James, NY 11780. Written comments on the proposed Local Law will be accepted until May 16, 2007.

Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Tall Grass Village Center Planned Development District (PDD). A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on May 15, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Board Auditorium, One Independence Hill, Second Floor, Farmingville, NY 11738. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until May 25, 2007. The action involves an application to rezone two properties from their existing A (Residence) 1 zone to Planned Development District (PDD), for the purpose of developing a total of 542 units of various residential types, 120,000 SF of commercial space, retain an existing golf course, and provide necessary and appropriate utilities (including an on-site STP) and recreational amenities. The 320.20 acre project site is presently occupied by the Delalio Sod Farm and the Tall Grass Golf Course. The DEIS is available online at www.tallgrasscommunities.com. The project is located east of Randall Road, south of NYS Route 25A and both north and south of Cooper Street, in an area west of the William Floyd Parkway, in the hamlet of Shoreham, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.
