John F. Kennedy International Airport
Building 49

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Kennedy International Airport Cogeneration (KIAC) Facility currently consists of two 42 MW Turbine-Generator sets connected to a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) with a total capacity of 109 MW. The KIAC Facility provides electrical power and heating and cooling services to the Airport facilities. The Applicant proposes to modify the KIAC Facility by the installation of one Simple Cycle 47 MW Turbine-Generator set utilizing a General Electric LM6000 gas turbine. Other on-site equipment will include a cooling unit, air and fuel gas compressor, injection water and cooling water treatment and storage units, unit control, and waste oil management systems. The stack for the proposed unit will be approximately 107 feet in height.
