an online donation

We are honored that some families request donations to DEC camps in memory of their loved ones. These contributions provide the opportunity for a youngster who wouldn't normally have the chance to attend camp to participate fully in an adventure-filled week learning outdoor skills and meeting new friends.

Donations can be made either online (leaves DEC website) or by check using the instructions below.

Donations by Check

Memorial donations should be sent to the DEC Camps account in the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT). The check should be made out to NHT, with DEC Camps written in the memo section. Please include a note with the name of the person in whose memory you are making the donation and the name of the family member who should receive a letter informing him or her of your contribution. Checks should be mailed to NHT Camps, c/o Director of Management & Budget Services, NYSDEC, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY 12233-5010.

Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) is a public benefit corporation of the State of New York that receives and manages gifts, grants and contributions to further public programs in support of conservation activities. NHT is tax exempt pursuant to Section 170(b) of the Internal Revenue Code and has been designated a 501(c)(3) corporation. You can read a brief description of the Natural Heritage Trust on the NYS Parks website. NHT will send out acknowledgment letters to donors for tax purposes.

Thank you for your interest in helping youngsters experience the joy and excitement of attending a DEC environmental education camp! Those who attend camp because of these donations are able to develop the life-long interests and skills in the outdoors that were shared by those in whose name the contributions are made.

If you have any questions, please contact camp staff by writing to NYSDEC Camps, 625 Broadway, Albany NY 12233-5256. You may also e-mail staff or call 518-402-8014. Your support is greatly appreciated!
