Camp Descriptions
Little Sprouts (Grades K-1)
Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Two options:
Week 1: July 8-12, 2013
Week 2: August 12-16, 2013
Each half-day adventure will feature sensory explorations into the lives of animals and plants. Campers will discover the wonders of nature through music, movement, art and play.
Cost per child:
$75.00 Friends of Reinstein Woods Members
$85.00 Non-members
Extended care is available from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at $10.00 per day.
Nature Explorers (Grades 2-4)
Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Two options:
Week 1: July 15-19, 2013
Week 2: August 5-9, 2013
Discover how to have fun with nature through games, crafts and hands-on experiences. Campers will get up close with butterflies and dragonflies, compete in the Animal Olympics and get in touch with simple natural wonders.
Cost per child:
$150.00 Friends of Reinstein Woods Members
$175.00 Non-members
Extended care is available from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at $10.00 per day.
Wilderness Adventurers (Grades 5-7)
Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Two options:
Week 1: July 22-26, 2013
Week 2: August 19-23, 2013
Encourage kids to connect with nature and their wild selves! Campers will investigate the world of the pond, learn how to bird watch, construct a wilderness survival shelter, explore the forest and more.
Cost per child:
$150.00 Friends of Reinstein Woods Members
$175.00 Non-members
Extended care is available from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at $10.00 per day.
Camps are filled on a first come, first served basis. You will receive a confirmation packet that includes additional information about your child's participation. In the event that the session(s) you requested are full, you will be notified that your child is on a waiting list.
Friends of Reinstein Woods will provide a full refund if a camp is cancelled by Friends of Reinstein Woods or if an individual cancels at least 10 days before camp begins.
Summer Science Safari Day Camp
July 29-August 2, 2013
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Experience Summer Day Camp like never before! Science comes alive at three exciting natural sites in the Lake Erie neighborhood: the Penn Dixie Site, Evangola State Park and Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve, for an exciting five days of Summer Nature Exploration. Children ages 8-12 will visit three unique natural sites for a fun week of activities. Dig for fossils, explore the world of a pond, swim at a lifeguarded beach, build a wilderness survival shelter, and see local animal and bird displays at two different nature centers and much more!
Cost per child = $180.00
