The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Welcome to Conservationist for Kids, the nature and environment magazine for kids in New York State. Every issue contains information and activities about New York State's environment, and ways to explore outside.

To receive Conservationist for Kids at home, follow the subscribe link on the left side of this page. Conservationist for Kids is printed three times each year, in the winter, spring and fall as an insert in the Conservationist magazine.

Attention Fourth-Grade Teachers
Each issue of Conservationist for Kids is distributed, free of charge, to all public school fourth-grade classes in New York State. Teachers receive a class set of 30 copies of Conservationist for Kids, plus a one-page teacher supplement. If you are a fourth-grade teacher in a public school in New York State and are not already receiving Conservationist for Kids for use in your classroom, please contact us.
