Rogers Environmental Interpretation Institute
Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne, NY, is pleased to offer interested individuals a program called the Rogers Environmental Interpretation Institute (REII). Rogers Center is located in rural, central New York, roughly halfway between Utica and Binghamton on New York State Route 80, 1 mile west of Route 12 intersection.

Program description:
A four week mini-internship of intensive environmental and natural history study, including interpretive techniques, use of environmental and nature related activities and activity guides, an overview of environmental literature, and the opportunity to observe and teach classes to elementary school students.
Spring session runs four weeks, mid-May to mid-June. Winter session runs three weeks in January. Work days are 8:30 AM - 4:45 PM Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays and evenings possible.

Qualifications:
College students and graduates interested in exploring an outdoor education or environmental education career. A maximum of four to six participants will be selected for the program each session.

Stipend/ Costs:
There is no stipend available. There is no fee for participation, unless college credit is desired. Graduate or Undergraduate credit available through SUNY Cortland or your school if we can make arrangements. If interested in getting credit, you must apply to the REII program at least two months in advance of the semester in which you desire credit. In which case, tuition is paid to SUNY Cortland or your school.

your home-away-from-home while at Rogers
Housing:
A large old house shared by program participants contains a large living room, kitchen and meeting space, as well as four bedrooms having one or two beds in each. Two full baths and a washer and dryer located in residence. Linens and towels are not provided. You provide your own groceries and prepare your own meals in the residence's kitchen.
