Friends of Reinstein Nature Preserve, Inc.

What is FORNP and what does it do?

In August 2003, a group of Reinstein Woods volunteers filed papers for the incorporation of a non-profit organization called "Friends of Reinstein Nature Preserve, Inc."

The mission of Friends of Reinstein Nature Preserve, Inc. (FORNP) is to preserve, protect, and enhance the natural resources and cultural heritage of the Dr. Victor Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve by:

  • promoting a knowledge of nature and awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of this unique and diverse environment;
  • enhancing and supporting programs at Reinstein Woods;
  • creating a support network through memberships; and
  • coordinating fund-raising and acting as a financial conduit for 501(c)(3) funds, donations, and grants.

The FORNP Board of Directors usually meets every third Thursday of the month inside the Reinstein Woods environmental education center. All FORNP members are invited to attend these meetings. For an exact schedule or more information, please email reinsteinwoods@yahoo.com or call 716-683-5959.

Benefits of Membership

FORNP Membership includes: free snowshoe and ski rental, discounts on special programs, an annual clothing coupon, members-only programs, and voting rights at the annual membership meeting.

Funds raised through membership dues help to support volunteer and educational programs at Reinstein Woods.

How to Become a Member

To become a member, download the FORNP brochure (694 KB PDF) and mail the membership form to: 93 Honorine Drive, Depew, NY 14043. The form can also be dropped off at the environmental education center.
