Pending Variances from Regulatory Statewide Spacing
The wells listed below have been proposed in oil fields or pools which
were discovered, developed and operated prior to January 1, 1981 or in
gas fields or pools which were discovered, developed and operated prior
to January 1, 1995 and which are not being extended. These wells are not
subject to the well spacing requirements of Title 5 of Article 23 of the
Environmental Conservation Law, but they do require exceptions from statewide
spacing under Part 553 of 6 NYCRR. The well operators' requests for exceptions
are currently under review by staff in the Permits Section, Bureau of
Oil and Gas Regulation, in the Albany office of the Division of Mineral
Resources. For more information regarding the review status of any well
listed below, please contact the Permits
Section in the Bureau of Oil and Gas Regulation, Albany office.
An opportunity for comment will be provided through publication of a
notice in the Department's
Environmental Notice Bulletin and direct mailings
to affected owners before these permits are issued. After permit issuance,
any spacing unit wherein the acreage is not 100% controlled by the well
operator will be scheduled for an integration hearing pursuant to subdivision
23-0901(3).
