2000 Hazardous Waste Annual Report

This annual report, which is submitted to the Governor and the New York State Legislature, identifies the quantity and types of hazardous waste generated and disposed of in New York State, and the sites that generated such waste, as required by the New York State Industrial Hazardous Waste Management Act of 1978. The report was compiled from a computerized data base containing information filed by those companies and facilities which generated 1000 kg (2,200 lbs) or more of hazardous waste or 1 kg (2.2 lbs) or more of acutely hazardous waste in any calendar month as well as commercial treatment, storage and disposal facilities (TSDFs).

This report also includes information on hazardous waste management in New York State. For waste that is generated within New York State, Hazardous Waste Reports from individual generators are the primary source of information. For waste received from generators located outside of New York State, information is obtained from the Hazardous Waste Reports filed by the commercial treatment, storage or disposal facilities within New York State.
