SYW-12 Sources of Contamination Investigation Work Plan- May 2012

This Work Plan presents the proposed scope of work for the sources of contamination investigation on the SYW-12 property (the Property). The SYW-12 property is located along the northeastern shoreline of Onondaga Lake and to the north and south of Ley Creek (Figure 1). The area is bounded by railroad tracks to the east and the Lake to the west. The area is approximately 40.7 acres (approximately 18.4 acres is delineated as wetland) and is currently owned by Onondaga County. The purpose of this work is to delineate the former Onondaga Creek channel on site
and further evaluate potential sources of constituents in the former channel.

Work proposed as part of the investigation includes: making of subsurface utilities, marking of final sampling locations it he field, installing test trenches, conducting soil borings, installing monitoring wells, conducting groundwater sampling, and undertaking hydraulic conductivity testing. Data will be validated and a report will be issued stating the findings of the study.
