Environmental Impacts of Acid Deposition: Trees

This picture shows the damage done by acid deposition to the trees on this Adirondack mountainside. Acid rain weakens the trees and causes them to be more susceptible to pest and disease. Some of our Adirondack mountaintops are void of trees partly because of the exposure to lower pH from acid precipitation and clouds.
