The PS 19 air monitoring station was established as a Federal Reference Method fine particulate (PM2.5) monitoring site in October 2001. The FRM PM2.5 sampler at PS 19 is part of the overall PM2.5 monitoring network used for comparison to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards. The continuous PM2.5 TEOM was added in June, 2007.

Following the shutdown of PS59, the low volume PM10 R&P 2025 instrument was added to this site, however electrical power problems have delayed the start up of this sampler.

The Public School 274 site was established in 2000 as a continuous fine particulate (PM2.5) monitoring station. The site utilizes a R&P Tapered Element Oscillating Microbalance (TEOM). This site is located in an urbanized, residential/industrial area of Brooklyn. The continuous fine particulate (PM2.5) monitoring data from this site are reported to AIRNow.

The Public School 314 site was first established in 1982 as a Hi-Volume inhalable particulate (PM10) station. In 2003 the site became a continuous fine particulate (PM2.5) monitoring site with the installation of a R&P Tapered Element Oscillating Microbalance (TEOM). This site is located in an urbanized, residential/industrial area in the vicinity of the Gowanus Expressway. Data from this site are reported to AIRNow.
