Comment Deadline Announcement: NYSDEC invites persons having an interest in providing written statements on applications accepted by the DEC for the Sealand Waste, LLC project located at 309 Dodge Road, in the Town of Carroll, Chautauqua County, (Facility name: Carroll C&D Management Facility). Comments should be provided to the NYSDEC no later than Monday, February 12, 2018.

DEC invites the public to comment about a draft plan to investigate contamination related to the 2135 Westchester Site (Westchester Avenue, Bronx), within New York's Brownfield Cleanup Program. Public comments about the draft plan will be accepted through February 13, 2018.

NYSDEC will hold a legislative public hearing on the proposed expansion of the Hakes C&D Debris Landfill located at 4376 Manning Ridge Road, in the Town of Campbell, Steuben County. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the following meeting location:

Citizen Science: THE GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT

This project is sponsored by the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society for four days in February. If you would like to help scientists track the mid-winter distribution and abundance of birds, or just sip coffee and learn about common backyard birds, please join us. Bring binoculars if you have them, or we have a few to loan.

NOTE: We are unable to accommodate organized groups (scouts, schools, hiking clubs, etc.) at our public programs. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to schedule a separate program for your group.
