NYSDEC will host a public availability session to provide information on recently completed habitat management plans for Honeoye Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) located in the town of Richmond, Ontario County and Conesus Inlet WMA located in the town of Conesus, Livingston County.

Come join us to learn about the goals of the plans and future management at these WMAs. The meeting will include a presentation and time for questions. An open house will begin at 6:30 and a formal presentation at 7:00. The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) recently announced the release of the Draft Lower Salmon River Restoration and Recreation Enhancement Plan to guide management of the newly designated Lower Salmon River State Forest, part of the acquisition of more than 6,000 acres of protected land in Oswego County announced by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo in 2017.

The draft Lower Salmon River Restoration and Recreation Enhancement Plan is currently available on DEC's website. DEC will accept comments until May 10, 2018 and staff will be available to answer questions and explain the plan during an open house on Thursday, April 26, 2018. The public is welcome to stop by any time from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DEC's Salmon River Fish Hatchery, 2133 County Route 22, Altmar, NY 13302.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has completed a Draft Unit Management Plan (UMP) amendment for the Cranberry Lake Boat Launch. Major proposals in the amendment include: construction of four accessible parking spaces; the installation of a floating dock; and the creation of an accessible route connecting the parking spaces and the docks/launch area.
