This proposed rulemaking regarding Part 59, Section 59.4 and Part 190, Section 190.24 - Aquatic Invasive Species Control at State Boat Launching and Fishing Access Sites is necessary to prevent boats carrying visible invasive species from launching at DEC facilities or leaving these facilities.

Comments will be accepted from January 8, 2014 through February 24, 2014.

This webinar will describe US EPA’s suite of tools that is available to assist local governments in assessing their energy use and emissions and translating them into health impacts and other metrics for communication with the public.

The public is invited to this discussion about cleanup activities at the Harbor at Hastings Site (Hastings-on-Hudson, Westchester Co.), within New York's State Superfund Program. The public is encouraged during the session to ask questions and discuss the upcoming site activities.

DEC has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application and Draft Remedial Investigation Work Plan from Crescent 110 Equities LLC for a site known as the Former 110th Street Service Station, site ID #C231087. This site is located in New York City, Borough of Manhattan, within the County of New York, and is located at 2040 Frederick Douglas Boulevard. This site is located in the Village of Penn Yan, within the Coutny of Yates, and is located at 15 Waddell Avenue. Comments regarding the application must be submitted no later than February 28, 2014. DEC invites public comment about a proposed remedy to address contamination related to the Former Majestic Dry Cleaners Site (Pine St., Brooklyn), under New York's State Superfund Program. Comments about the cleanup proposal may be submitted through February 28, 2014.

A public meeting about the cleanup proposal also will be held: February 11, 2014 at 6pm at the Cypress Hills Senior Center, 475 Fountain Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11208.

LOCATION: Five Rivers Environmental Education Center, Delmar

Join us for a close look at seasonal constellations and other heavenly bodies. Center staff will provide a naked-eye overview of the winter sky (binoculars optional), while members of the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers train telescopes on fascinating deep-sky objects for you to view. Parent(s) and child(ren) must accompany each other. Dress for outdoor fun. The program is free, but space is limited. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register by Wednesday, February 26. In the event of cloud cover, this program may be postponed.
