The public is invited to the public meeting to learn about the remedy being proposed by DEC to address contamination related to the Pan American Tannery Site (Gloversville). Public comments also are welcome at the meeting, and during a public comment period that runs through March 15, 2013.

A program for production of renewable fuel from waste cooking oil has been developed. The waste oil is collected by residential drop-off at a centrally located “EcoPark” facility, and after initial separation, it is converted into biodiesel fuel by a transesterification process. Environmental and economic benefits are realized by offsetting existing biodiesel fuel demand in municipal vehicles and power equipment, and reducing treatment and maintenance costs associated with waste oil handling at publicly-owned treatment works (POTW).

This webinar will provide an overview of the development of a CSC web-based toolkit that is being designed so communities can locate GHG reduction practices in the areas of land use, transportation, building codes, housing policy, green infrastructure, and infrastructure investment that best suit local needs and priorities. Feedback and suggestions will be solicited from the audience.
