 Public comment deadline for Part 44 Jonah Crab

NYSDEC is proposing change to Part 44 as relating to Jonah Crab. This rule making will establish a minimum size limit of four and three-quarter inches, and allow for the commercial harvest of claws in addition to whole crabs. It will also modify definitions of gear and escape panels for crab pots.

The Department is proposing to revise 6 NYCRR Subpart 225-1 Sulfur-in-Fuel. This revision will cause the rule to apply to additional stationary sources throughout NYS which fire distillate oil, residual oil, and/or coal. This rulemaking will also propose to lower the current sulfur-in-fuel content of waste oil.

Educators attending this exciting workshop will learn about, use, and go home with the award-winning Aquatic WILD K-12 Curriculum and Activity Guide. Aquatic WILD explores aquatic wildlife and ecology through hands-on simulations and modeling. This interdisciplinary K-12 resource is provided free of charge by the NYS Return a Gift to Wildlife Fund. Certified teachers will receive 4 CTLE hours. Call to register by Wednesday, January 30.
