DEC is proposing the addition of Part 570 to State regulations to establish a permitting program for the safe siting, construction, and operation of liquified natural gas (LNG) facilities and transportation of LNG in New York. Written comments may now be submitted about the proposed rule through 5 p.m. on December 4, 2013.

The purpose of the meeting is to collect comment about the draft unit management plan, discuss the units history, ecology and current uses, such as forest product sales and recreational use. DEC invites municipalities and community members to comment on the draft UMP and play an active role in finalizing the long-range vision and specific goals for management of these lands. Items which are proposed include enhanced access to the lands, promoting recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and more, that benefit the regional economy.

DEC invites public comment about a proposed expedited cleanup of contamination related to the 5140 Site, within New York's Brownfield Cleanup Program. The site is located at 5140 Commercial Drive, Yorkville, Oneida County. Comments regarding the cleanup proposal will be accepted through December 5, 2013.

 Amended Cleanup Proposal for West Side Corp. Site (Jamaica) Comment Period Ends

DEC invites public comment about an amended cleanup proposal to address contamination related to the West Side Corporation - Operable Unit No. 2 (OU2) Site (Jamaica, Queens), within New York's State Superfund Program. The site is located at 107-110 180th Street, Jamaica, Queens. OU2 stands for the off-site area where groundwater has been impacted by solvents. Comments regarding the amended cleanup proposal must be submitted no later than December 6, 2013.

 BCP Application for South Shore Outdoor Site (Islip) Comment Period Ends

DEC has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from Fifth & Candlewood LLC; Floramar, Inc.; Florence Sobel; and South Shore Outdoor Store, Inc. for a site known as the South Shore Outdoor, site ID #C152228. This site is located in the City of Islip, within the County of Suffolk, and is located at 1760 Fifth Avenue. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than December 6, 2013. Field parties will visit likely owl roosts then gather at a roaring campfire to compare findings.
