DEC will accept public input on the draft St. Lawrence Foothills UMP at an open house on July 25, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the following location:

The first half hour of the evening will be an open session to talk with DEC and will be followed by a brief presentation on the draft UMP at 6:30 pm. Comments will be collected during and after the presentation.

EDUCATOR WORKSHOP: AQUATIC WILD
This interactive, hands-on workshop provides K-12 educators with an interdisciplinary curriculum that focuses on aquatic wildlife and ecosystems. Participants receive a curriculum guide full of activities that are correlated to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Common Core State Standards - English Language Arts. Citizen Science: Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (MLMP)

Take part in ongoing research on monarch butterflies. For more than 15 years, data collected at Five Rivers has been contributed to this continent-wide citizen science project conducted through the University of Minnesota. The goal of the MLMP is to better understand how and why monarch populations vary, with a focus on their distribution and abundance during the breeding season in North America. Volunteers in the United States, Canada and Mexico aid in conserving monarchs and advance understanding of butterfly ecology and migration in general. Meet at the Nature’s Accessible Backyard Trail kiosk, at the south end of our parking lot. Go to www.mlmp.org to learn about the project.

The Eastern System Upgrade Project is an approximately 7.8 mile pipeline loop with a new compressor station and a compressor station upgrade. The Project would provide approximately 223,000 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) of firm transportation service from Millennium's existing Corning Compressor Station to an interconnect with Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC in Ramapo, New York. 91 percent of the Project capacity is subscribed under long-term, firm contracts with local distribution companies and municipalities. All of the proposed pipeline loop would be co-located along the existing Millennium Pipeline right-of-way (ROW).
