Roving Naturalist: SERVICE LOOP TRAIL

What is going on at Five Rivers in the heart of summer? From flowers to frogs and birds to bugs, there is a lot of activity. Come chat with a Five Rivers naturalist on the Service Loop Trail between Goose and Recharge ponds. Bring a question or discover something new; either way, it’s always fun. In case of inclement weather, the naturalist will be under the awning between the Visitor Center and Guided School Program buildings.

For the safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers, and in compliance with guidance from New York State, the New York State Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
  • Roving naturalist programs may host one family/household group at a time. No registration required.
  • Social distancing practices must be followed. Masks must be worn throughout guided programs, while at a roving program, and on the trails whenever a 6-foot distance cannot be maintained between individuals or households.

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.

We would appreciate receiving feedback from our users. Please let us know if you encounter any difficulties viewing or using this calendar by sending an email to the DEC webmaster.
