What’s the connection between Capital Region birds and the coffee in your cup? Explore this question with Brew the Roost, a series of interactive quilts that highlight the seasonal migration of birds and the importance of shade-grown coffee in maintaining biodiversity in coffee-growing regions. Quilts will be updated every two weeks as the fall migration progresses.

This family-friendly art exhibit, created by local artist Katherine Lynn Bierman, will be on view in the visitor center through Thanksgiving.

The Department is proposing revisions to new 6 NYCRR Subpart 227-3, "Ozone Season Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) Emission Limits for Simple Cycle and Regenerative Combustion Turbines." The primary goal of this proposal is to lower allowable NOx emissions from simple cycle and regenerative combustion turbines during the ozone season. The lower emissions from these sources will help to address Clean Air Act (CAA) requirements, ozone nonattainment and protect the health of New York State residents. This proposal is only applicable to simple cycle and regenerative combustion turbines. This is not a mandate on local governments. It applies to any entity that owns or operates a subject source. The revised proposal includes a substantive change to the applicability section with accompanying requisite changes in the definitions section. The proposed revision also includes other non-substantive changes in response to public comments to clarify the intent of the regulation.

Written comments are accepted through 5:00 pm October 7, 2019 and should be directed to:
