DEC has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application and Draft Remedial Action Work Plan for a site known as Former Assi Market, site ID #C241232. This site is located in the neighborhood of Flushing within the Borough of Queens and is located at 131-01 39th Avenue. Public comments about the application and draft work plan must be submitted by May 18, 2019.

DEC's I FISH NY program will conduct a Free Fishing Clinic on: 

  • May 18th, 2019 at Pier 5 in the Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Free Fishing Clinics are family and first time angler friendly! Participants can fish for free and loaner fishing rods and bait will be available for those who want to participate. No freshwater fishing license or enrollment in the Recreational Marine Fishing Registry is required. In addition to fishing, participants can learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, fisheries management, angling ethics and aquatic ecology.
