Proposed Rulemaking to Amend Water Quality Standards Regulations and the Classification of Upper and Lower New York Bay

The purpose of the proposed rulemaking is to amend Parts 700, 703, and 890 of Title 6 of the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules, and Regulations of the State of New York (6 NYCRR) to adopt new standards for enterococci and E. coli to meet the requirements of federal law and to upgrade the classifications of certain surface waters in the New York Harbor.

The public comment period commences on March 21, 2018. Written statements may be submitted to

The workshop includes several lectures discussing the benefits of trees, planting specifications, porous surface alternatives, and grant opportunities available through the NYS DEC Urban Forestry Program. 3.75 ISA and 6 CNLP credits.
