DEC has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application for a site known as Former Designs for Leisure, site ID #C360163. This site is located in the Village of Mt. Kisco, within the County of Westchester, and is located at 41 Kensico Drive. Comments about the application must be submitted no later than April 6, 2018.

DEC has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application and Draft Remedial Investigation/Interim Remedial Measures Work Plan for a site known as Former ANSCO Camera Factory, site ID #C704059. This site is located in the Town of Binghamton, within the County of Broome, and is located at 9 and 16 Emma Street. Comments about the application and work plan must be submitted no later than April 6, 2018.

Note: the public comment period about the Perfection Plating Site Cleanup Remedy is extended to April 6, 2018

DEC invites the public to comment about a proposed amended remedy to address contamination related to the Perfection Plating Site (Watervliet, Albany Co.), within New York's State Superfund Program. Public comments about the proposal will be accepted through April 6, 2018.

A public meeting also is scheduled: April 2, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Watervliet Senior Center, 1501 Broadway, Watervliet, NY.

Family Fun:  THE WORLD OF WORMS

Why are worms so slimy? Why does the early bird get the worm? Join us to learn all about worms and the soil they help make. We will observe earthworms in different environments, take a short outdoor walk, and make our very own worm jars. We will provide some jars, but bring your own if possible.

NOTE: Organized groups (scouts, schools, hiking clubs, etc.) are welcome, but are asked to call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register.

Design a wind mill with your children, then we will test your skills to see which design generates the most power to make electricity. A prize will be given to the winner. Information on wind power for homes will be available for parents. For children ages 8 and older. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.
