The Draft Guidance for the Siting, Construction, and Maintenance of Single-Track Bike Trails on Forest Preserve Lands in the Adirondack and Catskill Parks (Management Guidance) provides guidelines solely for the management of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) single-track bicycle trails (bike trails) on Forest Preserve lands.

Comments are welcome and will be accepted by the contact person listed above until December 8, 2017.

This Climate Smart Communities webinar (CSC) will describe the types of plans and policies that local governments can adopt to protect farmland and support low-emission, sustainable farming in their communities. This webinar is the first of a two-part series that will explore the relationship between climate change, agriculture, and municipal policies in New York State. The second webinar, on December 7, will focus on adaptation.

DEC has scheduled two identical sessions to discuss the Draft Onondaga Lake Long-Term Monitoring Plan:

  • 2:00-4:00pm
  • 6:00-8:00pm

The public is invited to stop by at any time during either session; stay for as little or as long as you like. Technical staff will be available to answer questions and discuss elements of the draft plan most important to you.

DEC also invites the public to provide comment about the draft plan during a public comment period that runs through December 7, 2017.

DEC will hold a public meeting on inland trout stream management in Jefferson County at the Dulles State Office Building. The meeting will provide an overview of the State’s approach to inland trout stream management and elicit feedback from anglers regarding their preferences and expectations for the management of inland trout stream waters.
