The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) - Division of Air Resources operates an ambient air monitoring network for various air contaminants within the State. As required by federal regulations, NYS DEC prepares an annual monitoring network plan.

NYS DEC has reviewed the current ambient air monitoring network and is proposing locate two required PAMS sites in the Bronx and on the north shore of Long Island, and collocating a PM2.5 instrument in Amherst, NY. In addition, the NYS DEC is requesting to close the Pb-TSP monitoring site at Ballard Road, and move the collocated sampler to the Wakefern Food Site at the end of 2017.

Written comments on this plan should be forwarded to NYS DEC by June 17th, 2017
