DEC has received a Brownfield CLeanup Program (BCP) application from Bedford Roth Holding LLC for a site known as 744 Bedford Avenue, site ID #C224193. This site is located in Brooklyn within the County of Kings, and is located at 742 - 760 Bedford Avenue. Comments regarding the application must be submitted no later than August 1, 2014. This site is located in Brooklyn, within the County of Kings, and is located at 835 Myrtle Avenue. Comments regarding the application and RIWP must be submitted no later than August 1, 2014. All of Long Island, New York City, and the lower Hudson River north to the Tappan Zee Bridge.

A valid diamondback terrapin license is required to take diamondback terrapin. Follow the directions on the Application and License web page to submit your form. 

Diamondback terrapin may only be taken using dip nets, hand capture, seine nets, and traps. The traps must be capable of capturing diamondback terrapin alive, and the trap must be marked with a tag bearing the name and address of the licensee and must be checked daily.

Possession of a diamondback terrapin on the waters or shores of New York State during the closed season is prohibited. Diamondback terrapin legally taken during the open season may be sold throughout the year only if they were killed and processed for consumption prior to May 5.

During the month of August, Department staff and volunteers record the sex and age composition of all flocks of wild turkeys observed during normal travel. This survey is a great way to partner with DEC to help monitor this popular game bird.
