Explore new and exciting ways to reach your curriculum goals, while enjoying the most under-used “classroom” at your school—the schoolyard! Learn outdoor classroom management techniques, how to identify common species, and effective ways to incorporate the outdoors into your curriculum. Each participant will receive a Project WILD activity guide with more than 120 standards-based lesson plans. Activities presented in the workshop are correlated to Common Core math and ELA standards. Please note: Participants must attend both days. For educators of students in grades K-12. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.

Meeting Location: Rome City Hall, 198 North Washington Street, Rome, NY 13440.

The public is invited to the meeting to learn about the "no further action" remedy being proposed by DEC related to the 508 West Liberty Street Site (Rome, Oneida Co.), within New York's Environmental Restoration Program. Public comments also are welcome at the meeting, and during a comment period that runs through an extended public comment period deadline of August 15, 2014.
