Youth hunters, ages 12-15, must possess a junior hunting license and be accompanied by a licensed adult hunter. Only junior hunters are allowed to possess a firearm or harvest birds during the special youth hunt weekend. The bag limit is two birds per day for the Long Island youth pheasant hunting weekend.

Join us for a 2-mile hike on Five Rivers’ Wild Turkey Trail. This is the northernmost edge of Five Rivers, skirting a 60-acre field and meandering throughout hardwood forests. We’ll enjoy the fall colors, glimpse wildlife, and watch for signs of wild turkey. Wear comfortable, sturdy footwear.

Noting what you see and reporting your observations can enhance your enjoyment while adding to our collective knowledge of birds. Come learn about the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Project FeederWatch and other simple ways to better understand your backyard birds.

Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas.
