This rulemaking is necessary to implement Amendment 2 of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) Atlantic Menhaden Fishery Management Plan (FMP) to decrease harvest by 20 percent in order to end overfishing on the stock and remain in compliance with the plan.

September 2013 Update: Buffalo River Environmental Cleanup Begins this fall - Habitat Restoration to Follow. Learn More about the Buffalo River dredging project at a Public Meeting. Project expected to be completed in 2015. The Restoration Partners are working with river users to minimize disturbances. Please notify us if you are a river user, either commercial or recreational, so that we can coordinate schedules when possible. We also have speakers, a project mailing list and this website for continual updates.

NYC Department of Parks and Recreation has applied for a Freshwater Wetlands Permit to change the surface and width of the Putnam Rail TrailFreshwater Wetlands Permit to change the surface and width of the Putnam Rail Trail. All persons, organizations, corporations or government agencies that may be affected by the project are invited to attend the hearing session to submit oral or written comments.
