Last spring, our Climate Smart Community Coordinator for the Long Island Region, David Berg was invited to meet with Dutch policy, research, and design experts in the Netherlands to learn from their hundreds of years of experience managing water.  In this webinar, David will share his new found knowledge and ideas.  According to David “There is much to be learned from a dialogue with the Dutch.”

The webinar will be accessible to anyone via an Internet connection and telephone. Webinar participants must use the telephone call-in number; no audio signal will be transmitted over the Internet.

To join the webinar, go to http://www.webdialogs.com

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the unit, discuss its history, ecology and current uses, such as forest product sales and recreational use, and to exchange ideas about long-term management. DEC invites municipalities and community members to play an active role in establishing a long-range vision and specific goals for management of these lands, including enhanced access to the lands, which would promote recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and more, that benefit the regional economy.
