The public will have a special opportunity to visit restricted portions of three Wildlife Management Areas in Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties starting Saturday, Aug. 17 and continuing through Friday, Aug. 30. Perch River WMA in Jefferson County and Upper and Lower Lakes and Wilson Hill WMAs in St. Lawrence County, including their wetland restricted areas, will be open to visitors.

Project WILD is an award-winning environmental education program for teachers and youth leaders. Participants receive a Project WILD Curriculum and Activity Guide with more than 100 lesson plans. For educators of students in grades K-12. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.

What are all those sounds that animate late August evenings? Join us on an exploratory walk to listen and look for vocal critters of the night. Learn about how and why they are so vocal and how their sounds are affected by our changing climate. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register for this program by Friday, August 16. This program is free and open to the public.
