This workshop helps teachers incorporate study of the Great Lakes into their classroom through standards-based, hands-on lesson plans and in-depth instruction in local Great Lakes issues. Participants will receive Project WET and Project WILD Aquatic curriculum and activity guides. For educators of students in grades 6-12. Please note: This workshop will take place at Beaver Island State Park in Grand Island. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.

DEC is providing Preliminary Drafts for Public Consideration of revised Petroleum Bulk Storage (PBS) and Chemical Bulk Storage (CBS) regulations for comment by stakeholders.

To help the public understand the draft regulations and ask questions, DEC will be hosting a live webinar about the draft regulations on August 14, 2013, from 10:00am - 12:00pm. You can access the webinar with your computer -- click the web link above for details.

DEC also will host a public information meeting about the draft regulations on September 10, 2013, from 10:00am - 12:00pm in Albany.

Public comments are welcome at the sessions and during a public comment period that runs through September 20, 2013. Comments should be emailed to the email address identified above labelled "Contact".

This highly acclaimed workshop emphasizes aquatic wildlife and aquatic ecosystems.  The lessons encourage problem-solving and decision-making skills, while inviting students to explore and understand the fascinating world of water and the aquatic habitats it supports.  The hands-on activities are designed for integration into existing courses of study for students in grades K-12.
