Birdlife of the wetlands held a particular fascination for Alexander Wilson (1766-1813), whose nine-volume American Ornithology first described the birds of the New World. Join us on a search for herons, ducks, sandpipers and other birds of pond and shoreline as we commemorate the birth date of the founder of American ornithology. Wetlands conservation issues will be discussed. This program is free and open to the public.

What’s red, white and blue and flutters in the wind? Dang, there goes another one! Whatever it is, they’re flying all over the grounds. Come join our annual census of local butterflies as we gently catch, identify and release specimens unharmed. Nets are welcome. Parent(s) and child(ren) must accompany each other. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register for this program by Friday, June 28. This program is free and open to the public.
