This workshop helps teachers incorporate study of the Great Lakes into their classroom through standards-based, hands-on lesson plans and in-depth instruction in local Great Lakes issues. Participants will receive Project WET and Project WILD Aquatic curriculum and activity guides. For educators of students in grades 6-12. Please note: This workshop will take place aboard the Spirit of Buffalo in Buffalo. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.

Project WILD is an award-winning interdisciplinary program for teachers and youth leaders. This interactive workshop will introduce instructional activities which integrate aquatic wildlife themes into the core disciplines. Participants will receive a free Project WILD Aquatic K-12 Curriculum and Activity Guide full of instructions for hands-on activities which support New York State learning standards. No fishing license is needed to participate in free 15-minute clinics sponsored throughout the morning and mid- afternoon by DEC and Onondaga County's Carpenter's Brook Hatchery.  Location is County Route 321, Elbridge, NY.

Aliens are invading Reinstein Woods! Not creatures from outer space, but plants and insects that could harm our forests and ponds. Explore where these “aliens” are found and check out what we are doing to protect our ecosystems. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.

Early June is a great time to search for babes in the woods, as well as babes in the fields, ponds and brushlands. Join us on an outdoor search for fawns, kits, tadpoles and other young of the year as we compare and contrast the needs of the newborns of common creatures.
