Orioles, grosbeaks, and thrushes are just a few of the birds that we will identify by song and sight on our morning walk along the banks of the Hudson River. Tips will be given on how to get started in this fascinating hobby.

Project Learning Tree is an award-winning curriculum enhancement program for teachers and youth leaders. This interactive workshop will introduce instructional activities which integrate forest-related themes into math, science and reading/writing disciplines. Participants will receive a free Project Learning Tree PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide full of instructions for stimulating hands-on activities which correlate to Common Core state standards. The workshop is open to teachers and youth leaders free of charge, but space is limited. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register by Friday, April 26.

Help us clear debris from our trails and prepare them for summer. We will also be planting native wildflowers in the woods. Families, scout groups and students needing service hours are welcome. Bring gloves, shovels and rakes if you have them. Refreshments will be provided. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.

Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas.
