The Cerulean Warbler is a powerful songbird with a melodious call that needs our help. In preparation for the birds return to its breeding grounds at Montezuma, homeschoolers will spruce up their habitat by removing invasive plants and planting native species in their place. If the warblers like what they see, they may whistle while we work! Fee: $7/child.

Amphibians are disappearing all over the world and for different reasons. Join us to learn why frogs and salamanders are in trouble and to help us monitor how the frogs in our area are doing. Participants will learn to identify species by their calls and then venture out to survey the number of species heard and the intensity of their calls. Waterproof footwear and flashlights recommended. Call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 for more information.

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.
