This Project Learning Tree secondary education module provides educators with a useful tool for place-based education to help create a bond between young citizens and their communities. Students will explore current and future community environmental issues, enabling them to make informed decisions about those issues. (www.plt.org)

Participants receive a free PLT Places We Live curriculum guide upon completion.

Moose belong to an interesting group of mammals called even-toed ungulates. At this indoor/outdoor study, Five Rivers naturalists will conduct an indoor overview of the natural history of this fascinating species, followed by an outdoor walk to compare and contrast the habitat requirements of moose and their close relatives, white-tailed deer.

Meet at the Kidd Lane parking area, beside the bridge crossing Stony Creek, off of route 9G, south of the village of Tivoli. For more information: 845-889-4745x109

This 1.5 mile guided walk will follow Stony Creek to the edge of Tivoli North Bay on the Hudson River and return to Kidd Lane. On this easy to moderate walk we will experience the smells and sounds of mature woods, waterfalls, open fields, and a tidal marsh
