This Boating Safety Course offered at the NYS DEC, 1115 Rt 86, Ray Brook is sponsored by the Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation's Bureau of Marine Services.

This 2 day course is designed as a comprehensive boating course, teaching the fundamentals of safe boating operation. The New York State boating safety certificate may be obtained by completing this course. The course will run during spring break on Tuesday April 2nd from 9:30AM - 2:30PM and Wednesday April 3rd from 9:30AM - 12:30PM. Both class sessions must be attended in order to obtain your safety certificate.

There is no cost for this class but if you are 18 or older you will be required to pay NYS Parks a $10.00 fee for your permanent boating safety certificate.

You must hold a boating safety certificate if:

You operate a personal watercraft and are at least 14 years of age.
You wish to operate a motorboat (other than a personal watercraft) and you are at least 10 years old and less than 18 years old.
You must preregister for this course by calling (518) 474-0445, seating is limited to 35 students.

Join us for an elementary approach to bird life as we study birds at the feeder and beyond. This program will cover concepts in bird anatomy, behavior, identification and conservation, which parent and child can build upon at home. Parent(s) and child(ren) must accompany each other. This program is free, but space is limited. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register by Wednesday, March 27.
