Project WILD is an award-winning environmental education program for teachers and youth leaders. Participants receive a Project WILD Curriculum and Activity Guide with more than 100 lesson plans. For educators of students in grades K-12. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.

Public Meeting Location: Newark Village Court, 100 East Miller Street, Newark, NY

The public is invited to the meeting to learn about the remedy being proposed by DEC to address contamination related to the NYSEG-Newark MGP (Manufactured Gas Plant) Site (Newark, Wayne County). Public comments also are welcome at the meeting, and during a public comment period that runs through March 29, 2013.

Erik Kiviat, PhD, Executive Director of Hudsonia Ltd. will use a power point presentation to illustrate the basic character of the wetlands and the natural and human influences on them. Topics will include the habitats and typical plants and animals of the wetlands, and the implications of change due to sea level rise; ecotourism; management of non-native species; wastewater treatment; and land use.
