This workshop, for early childhood educators with an interest in teaching children to appreciate the beauty of nature, uses a child’s sense of wonder to encourage first-hand exploration of the natural world. Participants will receive a free Growing Up WILD workbook full of stimulating hands-on activities, including crafts, art projects, music, conservation activities, reading and math connections, which correlate to NAEYC Standards and Head Start Domains. Some animals have a bad reputation. Come to this family-friendly program to learn about animals not all of us fully appreciate. We will use games and crafts and go for a walk to delve into the lives of the not so cute and cuddly. Parent(s) and child(ren) must accompany each other. This program is free of charge, but space is limited. Please call Five Rivers at 518-475-0291 to register by Wednesday, February 6.

Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas.
