An award-winning curriculum that uses the forest as a "window" to help students in grades pre-K to 8 and educators gain awareness and knowledge of the natural world.  Much of the curriculum focuses on practical, familiar examples of trees, plants and household products to paint a broader picture of the issues facing the environment today.  Participants receive a free PLT curriculum guide upon completion.  (www.plt.org)

Join us for an elementary approach to winter bird life. This program will cover concepts in bird anatomy, behavior, identification and conservation, which parent and child can build upon in your own yard or park. Parent(s) and child(ren) must accompany each other. This program is free of charge, but space is limited. Please call the center at 518-475-0291 to register by Friday, December 21.

Geo-caching is a popular treasure hunting game played with GPS units. During this program, you will learn how to use a hand-held GPS unit to find hidden geo-caches containing clues for solving nature mysteries. Ages 8 and older. Registration required; call 716-683-5959.
