Yellow Perch

Yellow Perch

Perca flavescens

Yellow Perch occurs in a variety of habitats in both streams and lakes. It is native to all 18 watersheds but was historically absent from the Adirondacks. Because it is popular for angling, it has been introduced into many waters. Yellow Perch has been among the most frequently caught of lake fishes across the state.
