Logperch lives in the slower portions of streams and lakes and spawns on gravel. The Great Lakes and Allegheny watersheds comprise the eleven watersheds where it is native. It is not native to Atlantic slope watersheds and has become established in the Mohawk, Upper Hudson, Lower Hudson and parts of the Adirondacks.
