Walleye Image

Sander vitreum

Walleye lives in lowland streams and lakes and spawns on gravel. It is found in all watersheds, but is native to only the Great Lakes and Allegheny watersheds. It has been introduced to many lakes where annual stocking continues to supplement poor natural reproduction. Many records came from stocking that was not sustained.
