Catostomus commersonii

White Sucker lives in streams, rivers, ponds and lakes and it depends on gravel areas for spawning. It is found in all watersheds except Long Island and was historically absent from some of the higher elevation ponds of the Adirondacks. White sucker is the most frequently caught stream fish in the state.
