Tinca tinca

Tench became established in Lake Champlain in 2000 after escaping from aquaculture ponds in Quebec. It is native to Europe. Habitat preferences in this large lake are poorly understood, but it will likely spread south in years to come and perhaps find most favorable conditions in South Bay of Lake Champlain.
