Notropis rubellus

Rosyface Shiner occurs in low-elevation medium-sized streams with structured run-riffle habitat. It is native to all watersheds except the Black, Delaware, Newark Bay and Long Island. There has been an increase in frequency occurrence based on comprehensive stream surveys undertaken between 1930 and the present. The greatest gains were in the watersheds of the Susquehanna and Saint Lawrence drainages.
