Luxilus cornutus

Common Shiner inhabits nearly all kinds of medium-sized streams and some lakes. It occurs in all 18 watersheds, but only in the northwestern part of Long Island watershed in Westchester County. It has been caught more frequently in streams across the state than any other shiner.
